How Ruto Govt Responded After TikTokers Reveal Plans to Build Modern Hospital

Kenyan TikTokers have announced bold plans to construct an ultra-modern hospital that will provide free healthcare to the public.

The initiative, which has already attracted national attention, is being supported by senior government officials.

On Wednesday, October 1, Dennis Itumbi, the Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy Coordination, praised the idea during a TikTok creators’ workshop at Glee Hotel in Kiambu County.

He described it as a forward-thinking project that could change lives across the country.

“It is a brilliant idea,” Itumbi said. “In Kenya, many hospitals were built by faith-based groups. If TikTokers can come together and build another hospital, then that is a welcome initiative.

President Ruto is also overseeing the construction of 70 hospitals through the Kenya Defence Forces, so this aligns perfectly with the government’s health agenda.”

The move by content creators comes at a time when many Kenyans are struggling with poor public healthcare. Long queues, limited medical staff, and lack of medicine have made treatment difficult, especially for vulnerable families.

The TikTok initiative has been inspired by a touching story that recently went viral.

A 17-year-old content creator, popularly known as Kaluma Boy, shared emotional videos of himself caring for his father, who suffered a stroke. His daily clips showed the challenges of paying medical bills and looking after his bedridden parent.

The story drew thousands of supporters, and many Kenyans visited the family home in Othaya, Nyeri County, to offer help.

Moved by this act of kindness, TikTokers decided that a long-term solution was needed. They proposed the idea of building a modern hospital that will cater to families facing similar struggles.

According to them, the facility will provide free healthcare, especially for cases where financial barriers prevent timely treatment.

Health experts and leaders have welcomed the plan, noting that it could ease the pressure on public hospitals. Community members also believe the hospital will bring hope to many who have lost faith in the system.

The project is still in its early stages, but discussions are ongoing among TikTok influencers, partners, and well-wishers on how to fund and manage the facility.

If successful, it would mark a new chapter where social media communities turn online influence into real-life solutions.
