"End Haiti Mis-adventure, Use Returning Force to Crush Nairobi Thugs," Kuria Demands

The Honourable Moses Kuria has demanded that Kenyan police officers be brought home from the "mis-adventure" in Haiti and immediately deployed to the streets of Nairobi to crush the city's wave of violent crime.

The former public service CS Moses Kuria made the call immediately after the United Nations Security Council passed a resolution to create a new "Global Force for Haiti," effectively ending the troubled Kenya-led mission.

"I salute the UN Security Council for the resolution," he stated, "This should now put to an end the Kenyan unilateral mission and end the mis-adventure."

Honourable Moses Kuria has been a fierce and consistent critic of the Haiti deployment.

He has in the past blamed the entire operation on the former US Ambassador and has publicly mourned the deaths of Kenyan officers who lost their lives in the conflict.

The Honourable Moses Kuria is now making a direct appeal to the Inspector General of Police.

He is demanding that the battle-hardened officers, upon their return, should be sent straight into action to "put an end to the daylight muggings and pickpocketings" that are terrorising residents of the capital.

The Honourable Moses Kuria's demand comes as the UN transitions to a new, larger Gang Suppression Force (GSF) in Haiti.

The UN acknowledged that the initial Kenya-led mission was underfunded and understaffed, operating at only 40% of its intended capacity.

The new force will be significantly larger, comprising 5,500 personnel to take over the difficult task of restoring order in the Caribbean nation.
