Bomet – A cloud of grief hung over Kongotik village in Bomet East as family, friends, and neighbors gathered to bury 24-year-old Ismael Kipkoech, whose life was cut short in a tragic road accident along the notorious Sachang’wan stretch.
Ismael, a boda boda rider and father of one, lost his life just days after making what many described as his final act of love – paying for his family’s medical cover.
For mourners, the timing of that gesture became a symbol of the responsibility and love he carried for his young family.
Born in 2001, Ismael was remembered as a hardworking and cheerful young man who carried the weight of his family with pride.
His relatives described him as dependable, kindhearted, and determined to give his wife and son a better future.
“He always talked about building a better life for his child. He worked tirelessly to make ends meet,” one mourner recalled, struggling to contain tears.
Ismael leaves behind a four-year-old son and a widow who is eight months pregnant. Click here.
