Sifuna's New Alliance is Raila's Plan to Exploit Govt, Gachagua Claims

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has launched a fresh attack on ODM leader Raila Odinga, accusing him of playing double politics ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

Speaking during a church service at Jesus Exaltation Church in Kajiado East on Sunday, Gachagua alleged that Raila was tactically working both inside and outside the government.

According to him, the ODM boss had created two separate camps designed to exploit whichever outcome favored him politically.

He singled out the Kenya Moja alliance, led by ODM Secretary General and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, claiming it was Raila’s project to challenge the government from within.

“Raila is very clever. Don’t be fooled when he says ODM has no candidate. He has two groups: one to back the government for money, and another to oppose it loudly,” Gachagua claimed.

The remarks came amid growing controversy around Sifuna, who recently hinted at quitting ODM if the party aligned with Kenya Kwanza in 2027. He has since teamed up with youthful leaders like Babu Owino and Gathoni Wamuchomba in a new outfit.

Gachagua further alleged that Raila’s silence on ODM’s candidate was tied to delayed financial deals with the government, citing President Ruto’s past admission that Raila’s politics was driven by money.

Sifuna has previously dismissed claims of being anyone’s project but is yet to respond to the latest accusations. Click here
