"Enda Salama Na Usiturudie": Kenyan Lady Tells Dead Mum During Her Burial, Video Goes Viral

A young woman’s speech at her mother’s burial has gone viral after she chose to eulogise her in an unconventional yet powerful way.

During the emotional service, many expected her to break down in tears. Instead, she surprised mourners by using courage, humour, and blunt honesty to bid her mother farewell.

Dressed in black, the lady addressed the gathering with confidence, pacing back and forth as she spoke.

“Mum’s journey has ended. I am the one left now. I cannot start crying here; I already did that yesterday,” she said, leaving mourners torn between laughter and tears.

The young woman went on to encourage her siblings, especially her brother, not to cry but to remain strong. She also told her grandfather not to worry, promising to stand by him as the eldest grandchild now that her mother was gone.

Despite her confident tone, she admitted to one deep regret—never telling her mother how much she loved her while she was alive.

“It’s unfortunate that I never said it, but if God allows her to hear it now, then that is enough. Mum, we love you, but please rest in peace and don’t come back to scare us,” she added, drawing chuckles from the crowd.

She acknowledged that she and her siblings had been largely raised by their grandparents, which perhaps explained her strength at the burial.

She thanked them for stepping in as parents and expressed gratitude to the pastor for his guidance during the family’s most difficult days.

The video of her speech, first shared on TikTok, quickly spread across social media, sparking heated discussions.

Some praised her courage and ability to lighten such a heavy moment, while others felt she had been too casual for the occasion.

“There is a reason she spoke like that, we should not judge her,” one commenter said.

Another added, “If you show this much courage where I come from, people might even accuse you of causing your mother’s death.”
