“Time Is Running Out” — Raila Warned That Only One Thing Can Save ODM, But Even He May Have Fallen Too Far Behind

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga faces a herculean task in stabilizing his own ODM party, which has been embroiled in internal squabbles, with some leaders supporting his alliance with President Ruto and others opposing him.

The ODM's collaboration with President William Ruto raises serious ideological concerns, which political analysts believe will have an impact on Raila's ability to maintain control of the party.

For many ODM supporters, Ruto represents everything they have long opposed, and his popularity is declining.

Some political analysts and observers have downplayed Raila's role in keeping the ODM party together, claiming that the party's core values and role have persuaded people to join it.

“ODM is forgetting that its strength was not just because of Raila Odinga, but because it was seen as the voice of the marginalized. Now it is partnering with a government that those very people felt oppressed them.” political lecturer Dr. Chebii Kiprono from Alupe University stated:

Dr. Kiprono notes that Kenya’s political history shows clearly that once a party loses its voice and becomes part of unclear power coalitions, it collapses quickly.

"Kenyan politics has no tolerance for parties that lack a clear stance. When grassroots supporters feel betrayed, they quietly withdraw, making it extremely difficult to win them back.

"However, time is running out. If the party does not wake up soon, history will remember it as a party that lost its dignity and strength—not because it lost an election, but because it failed to maintain its foundation," he said.
