Ruto Finally Admits, Reveals What Has Caused His Popularity to Fall Across the Country

President William Ruto has admitted that his Kenya Kwanza administration, is facing trust issue, especially from the youthful generation.

The administration that took power in 2022 using the bottom-up and Hustler slogans has faced two massive chaotic protests from Generation Z, one in 2024 during the anti-finance bill and the other during the Saba Saba celebration.

However, speaking at a joint parliamentary session attended by Kenya Kwanza and ODM MPs, the Head of State admitted that his Kenya Kwanza administration is unpopular among many Kenyans.

President William Ruto explained that his government's push to implement tough reforms, such as the Social Health Authority (SHA) and affordable housing, has put his administration at risk of losing popular support among Kenyans.

Nevertheless, Ruto maintained that despite resistance from many Kenyans, the reforms and policies his government is implementing will eventually transform the country.

“I can assure you, even if Raila Odinga were president today, he would be implementing SHA, housing, reforms in education, and agriculture. He would face the same difficulties I am facing now,” Ruto said.

Acknowledging that his popularity is at stake as the country prepares for next election in 2027, Dr William Ruto noted that the reforms are necessary for the country to move forward despite hIs popularity plummeting.

“The difficulties I face today are self-imposed. If I had not implemented the new funding model or housing, I would be very popular, but the country would gain nothing,” he said.
