So far political heavyweights in the opposition have joined hand to boost their chances of unseating President William Ruto in the 2027 Presidential Elections.
So far, regional parties including DCP party of Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper Democratic Front of Kalonzo Musyoka, PLP od Martha Karua are undertaking grassroot mobilisations to boost their bargaining powers ahead of next elections.
Rigathi Gachagua has not been left behind, with reports suggesting that the former Mathira Member of is using leaders aligned with DCP to push for a consolidation of smaller parties to create a dominant force in the vote rich Mount Kenya region.
However, this move seems to have rattled some political honchos in the region, with Peter Munya and others opposing Gachagua's plot to consolidate other Political into DCP.
Mr Munya, who is the former cabinet secretary for Agriculture viewed Gachagua's move as an attempt to curtail and possible political competition and independent voices.
The leader of the Party of National Unity (PNU), retaliated against the push for a single political party in the Mt. Kenya region, warning that move is threat to Kenya’s multiparty system.
