Inside Disturbing Note Father Left Before Killing Son, 4, In House After Allegedly Using Lies to Steal Him

A cloud of grief and shock hangs over the Bondeni area of Nakuru Town East after a man allegedly used deceit to take his 4-year-old son from school — only to poison and kill him before taking his own life.

The disturbing incident has left residents shaken, sparking intense discussions about mental health, toxic relationships, and the rising cases of family-related killings.

The suspect, identified as George Nthenge, reportedly lied to his son’s school about a family emergency in order to take the child home.

According to police reports, Nthenge was not the one who usually picked the child up from school. However, he appeared calm and convincing, and the school allowed the release of the child into his custody.

Hours later, both the man and the boy were found dead inside Nthenge's rented apartment. The child’s body was discovered on a bed, covered in a white duvet, while Nthenge’s body lay motionless on the floor nearby. Authorities believe he poisoned his son before ingesting the same toxic substance himself.

Nakuru Town East Police Commander Samson Adanje confirmed the incident, describing it as one of the most tragic domestic murder-suicides the area has witnessed this year.

A handwritten suicide note found at the scene has now become the chilling centre of the investigation. In the note, Nthenge accused his estranged partner — the boy’s mother — of cheating on him with another man.

He claimed that the betrayal had left him emotionally broken, and that he could not bear the thought of another man raising his child.

“I have lived in pain. You broke me. You took everything from me, and now I take him too. If I can’t have peace, let no one have it,” read part of the note, according to police sources.

Family members say the couple had separated weeks before the tragedy, with the woman moving back to her parents’ home.

The woman, who works at a local hotel, reportedly rushed to the scene after receiving distressing calls from neighbours. According to her father, she arrived to find the door ajar, and upon entering, discovered her child had already died.

“I still can't believe George would do this,” said the distraught grandfather.

“They had issues like many young couples, but I never thought he could take such a step.”

Neighbours described Nthenge as a quiet but troubled man.

“He rarely talked to people. You could tell he was hurting inside,” one neighbour said.

Social media users who saw the viral TikTok video showing the scene of the crime expressed outrage and sorrow. Many urged struggling couples to seek help rather than resort to violence.

Police have now called on schools to tighten verification protocols for picking up children, while mental health professionals have stressed the need for accessible counselling services, especially for men going through emotional distress.

The bodies were taken to Nakuru County mortuary pending postmortem, as investigations continue.
