Fresh Claims Emerge in Dr. Obwaka’s Death as Widow Widow Speaks on Nairobi Hospital Dispute, Reveals What He Was Told at Ruto’s Office

New details have emerged surrounding the death of Job Obwaka after his widow, Everose Obwaka, publicly alleged that her husband faced pressure linked to the ongoing leadership wrangles at The Nairobi Hospital.

Speaking during a memorial service held on Wednesday, May 14, Everose claimed that her late husband had expressed fears for his safety following disputes connected to governance battles at the hospital.

According to her, Dr Obwaka was among officials selected to help implement reforms at the institution before the conflict escalated into a prolonged legal and administrative battle.

She told mourners that during the height of the wrangles, some members involved in the matter were allegedly summoned to the Office of the President for discussions concerning the dispute.

Everose further claimed that while there, her husband allegedly received instructions relating to a High Court case connected to the hospital leadership conflict.

“They were called to the Office of the President, and one man who is a Kalenjin called him and said, ‘Dr Obwaka, go to the High Court and withdraw the case that you took there,’” she alleged during the emotional memorial gathering.

The widow claimed Dr Obwaka declined to withdraw the case despite the alleged pressure.

According to her, the decision deeply troubled the late doctor and eventually caused fear and anxiety within the family.

She stated that Dr Obwaka repeatedly confided in her that he believed his life could be in danger after refusing to comply with the alleged directive.

Everose said the stress surrounding the dispute affected him emotionally and led to many sleepless nights at home.

She further disclosed that there were moments when her husband would ask relatives to check on him whenever he became unreachable for extended periods, saying he appeared increasingly concerned about his personal safety.

The late gynecologist was arrested in March 2026 alongside other officials linked to Nairobi Hospital over governance-related allegations.

The charges brought against them included accusations of conflict of interest, failure to submit statutory financial returns, and irregular registration of members under the Kenya Hospital Association.

Dr Obwaka denied all the accusations in court.

The Nairobi Hospital leadership dispute has dominated headlines for months, with rival factions battling over control and management of one of Kenya’s leading private healthcare institutions.

The wrangles have triggered court cases, boardroom confrontations and investigations involving senior hospital officials.

Political and legal observers have continued to closely monitor developments surrounding the matter because of the institution’s significance within the country’s healthcare sector.

During the memorial service, Everose said she decided to speak publicly because she no longer wanted to remain silent about what her husband allegedly went through before his death.

She described Dr Obwaka as a committed medical professional who dedicated much of his life to serving patients and improving healthcare systems.

Her remarks have since generated widespread discussion online, with Kenyans expressing sympathy for the family while also calling for clarity regarding the circumstances surrounding the Nairobi Hospital conflict and the allegations raised during the memorial.

By the time of publication, there had been no immediate public response from State House or individuals mentioned in the claims made by the widow.

The revelations are likely to intensify public attention on the Nairobi Hospital saga as questions continue emerging about the events leading up to Dr Obwaka’s death.
