“Our Family Land Disputes Almost Destroyed Us" Elder Shares Story, Opens Up On The Step He Took That Brought Peace and Agreement

My name is Mzee Joseph, an elder from Mbale, Uganda, and I want to share my story to encourage families facing land conflicts and misunderstandings. 

For many years, our family was involved in serious land disputes that almost destroyed our unity. Brothers were fighting each other, relatives stopped talking, and meetings always ended in arguments and anger. 

The land that was supposed to bring development and stability instead became the source of division and pain in our family.

We tried involving local leaders, elders, and even legal authorities, but the disagreements continued.

Every discussion turned into accusations and mistrust, and peace seemed impossible. The situation became so bad that some family members threatened to take the matter to court, which would have made things worse and completely broken our family ties.
