Stanley Kimure, an aide to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Director of Political Affairs in the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), has been found alive after what his legal team described as an alleged abduction.
According to a statement released by his lawyer, Ndegwa Njiru, Kimure was located in Kajiado County approximately 16 hours after he reportedly went missing.
He is said to have been abducted near Rironi by individuals believed to be police officers, who were allegedly driving a Subaru Forester.
Njiru confirmed that Kimure was later presented before the Kajiado Law Courts by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The advocate further alleged that Kimure is currently under investigation by the DCI, claiming that authorities were attempting to compel him to provide testimony against former Deputy President Gachagua.
However, official details surrounding the charges facing Kimure have not yet been publicly disclosed.
The incident has sparked concern among political observers and human rights advocates, particularly over the circumstances of Kimure’s alleged abduction and subsequent reappearance in police custody.
Questions are now being raised about due process, the conduct of law enforcement agencies, and the broader political implications of the case.
Authorities have yet to issue a comprehensive statement addressing the allegations of abduction or the specifics of the charges against Kimure.
Meanwhile, his legal team has indicated that they will continue to challenge the legality of his arrest and detention.
The case is expected to draw significant attention in the coming days as more details emerge.
