Fresh cracks have emerged within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) after the Linda Mwananchi faction openly accused party leader Oburu Odinga of betrayal and declared plans to field a presidential candidate in the 2027 General Election.

The faction, led by key opposition figures including Edwin Sifuna, James Orengo, and Babu Owino, made the announcement during a charged political rally in Vihiga County on Saturday, April 25, 2026. 

Their statements signaled a deepening internal dispute that now threatens to redefine ODM’s political direction ahead of the next election cycle.
