“After Years of Family Wrangles Over Inheritance, Peace Was Finally Restored and Property Was Shared Fairly" – Elder Shares His Experience

My name is Mzee Okello, and I come from Gulu. For many years, our family was divided because of inheritance wrangles that started after the death of our father. 

He left behind land, rental houses, and other property, but he did not clearly divide everything among us. 

What was supposed to unite us as a family instead turned into a serious conflict that brought hatred, arguments, and mistrust among brothers and sisters. 

Every family meeting ended in quarrels, and some relatives even stopped talking to each other completely.

The situation became worse when some family members started trying to grab more property and sell parts of the land without agreement. Court cases followed, and money was wasted on legal battles that did not bring any peace. 

As the eldest in the family, I felt responsible for restoring unity, but all my efforts failed because everyone wanted to control the inheritance alone.
