"You're Lucky, I Used To Be Dangerous" MP Junet Tells Nyanza ODM MP After Doing This In Parliament

National Assembly Minority Leader Junet Mohammed today criticized ODM Party MP Caroli Omondi over claims that he wanted to join the CIOC Committee.

Junet said that he has never tried to get a seat on the committee for himself. He explained that it is the party that decides which member goes to which committee, not individual MPs.

“The party decides who goes where. I have never asked for any committee seat for myself,” he said.

He also reminded people that when he was Minority Whip, he was known for being strong and fearless.

He said his focus was always on defending minority members and holding the government accountable.

Junet said that Omondi was giving the wrong impression about how committees work. “We should respect the party rules. Personal ambition should not confuse the public,” he said.

Analysts say this shows that there is tension in ODM as MPs try to get important positions. Committees like CIOC are powerful, and getting a seat there can make an MP more visible and influential.

Junet ended by telling MPs to focus on helping Kenyans and doing their work in Parliament instead of fighting over positions. “Our job is to serve Kenyans, not to argue over committees,” he said.

This shows how party loyalty and personal ambitions can sometimes clash in Kenyan politics, even among members of the same party.
