“Weuh, Sasa Hii Ndio Crowd” — Ngunjiri Wambugu Reacts as Sifuna Pulls Massive Kitengela Turnout

Former Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has reacted with visible excitement after Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna drew a massive crowd during the ongoing Linda Mwananchi tour in Kitengela, Kajiado County.

Taking to social media after images and videos from the rally circulated online, Wambugu appeared impressed by the scale of public participation.

In a light but pointed remark — “Weuh, sasa hii ndio crowd!” — he suggested that the turnout carried significant political weight.

Though he did not directly name anyone, his reaction seemed to draw comparisons with rallies previously associated with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Observers interpreted his comment as implying that the Kitengela gathering reflected a different magnitude of grassroots enthusiasm.

The rally, held under the banner of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)-linked Linda Mwananchi initiative, attracted thousands of residents.

Supporters reportedly lined major roads and converged at the venue hours before the event began, waving party colors and chanting slogans as leaders addressed them.

Wambugu noted that the numbers witnessed in Kitengela could signal a growing appetite for issue-driven politics, particularly among young and urban voters.
He argued that the Linda Mwananchi tour appears to be tapping into widespread public frustration over governance, cost of living pressures, and accountability concerns — themes that continue to dominate national discourse.

According to him, the momentum around the tour may also influence shifting political alignments. Wambugu hinted that leaders who had previously kept their distance from Sifuna’s camp might now seek to associate themselves with the perceived surge in popularity.

He cautioned, however, that such alignments should be rooted in shared principles rather than political convenience. In his view, authenticity will be critical as the country edges closer to the 2027 General Election.

Sifuna has framed the Linda Mwananchi tour as a listening platform aimed at amplifying citizens’ everyday concerns rather than merely staging political rallies.

In Kitengela, speakers reportedly addressed economic challenges, youth unemployment, and the rising cost of living — issues that continue to resonate strongly with voters across the country.
The scale of the turnout has since fueled debate online, with supporters celebrating it as proof of shifting public mood, while critics argue that crowd size alone does not determine electoral outcomes.
