Tragedy As Police Officer Kills Girlfriend in Her Room After Night Party, Puts His Friend's ID Card Near Body

The family and friends of 23-year-old Ann Muthoni Ngunjiri are demanding justice following her brutal death in Kayole, Nairobi, in a case that has sparked outrage and renewed calls for accountability.

Muthoni’s lifeless body was discovered inside her apartment by her roommate, Lucia Wambui.

According to police, she had sustained deep stab wounds to the head, injuries believed to have caused her death. The scene inside the house painted a grim picture of the young woman’s final moments.

Lucia recounted the shock of finding her friend. She initially thought Muthoni was asleep, but when she attempted to wake her, she noticed her hand was unusually pale.

Her face was partially covered with bloodstained towels, and the pillowcase beneath her head was soaked with blood. Muthoni was found unclothed, covered only by a sheet, raising further questions about what transpired before her death.

Witnesses revealed that Muthoni was last seen alive in the company of her boyfriend, Benson Mutiso, a General Service Unit officer. The two reportedly returned to the apartment in the early morning hours after a night of drinking. The apartment caretaker, Gakii Nyaga, told investigators that Muthoni appeared heavily intoxicated and that Mutiso helped her into the house shortly before the incident.

Friends of the deceased described her relationship as deeply troubled, marked by frequent arguments and alleged violence. They claimed Mutiso had previously broken her phone on several occasions during heated confrontations. One close friend said she had repeatedly urged Muthoni to leave the toxic relationship, advice that now haunts her.

Police recovered a kitchen knife believed to be the murder weapon, as well as an identification card belonging to Felix Ojwang, said to be a close associate of Mutiso. Investigators suspect the ID may have been planted to mislead authorities.

Mutiso has since been named the prime suspect and remains at large as investigations continue. Meanwhile, Muthoni’s loved ones are calling for swift action, insisting that justice must be served.
