"Those Who Are Responsible for Raila's Death Are Out There" Says James Orengo

Political temperatures are rising as Kenya moves toward the 2027 general elections and parties adjust their strategies. Opposition groups are facing internal debates that are shaping public statements and leadership choices.

Recent remarks by Siaya Governor James Orengo have placed focus on the death of Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

The comments came during a press briefing in Nairobi with leaders from Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

Governor Orengo said the circumstances around Raila Odinga death remain unclear to many Kenyans. He stated that those responsible are silent and the truth must be known through a fair process.

He compared his current claim with words he spoke years ago during the burial of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga. At that event he addressed mourners in the presence of President Daniel Arap Moi.

The governor recalled saying that Jaramogi death raised serious questions that were never answered. He added that a similar demand for clarity should guide discussions about Raila passing.

His statement was delivered as ODM leaders met to discuss party unity and leadership direction. Several members of Parliament and senators attended the briefing to present a joint position.

Other speakers said the late opposition leader ideas would continue to shape public debate and reform efforts. They urged supporters to seek justice using legal and political channels.
