REVEALED: Gachagua Skipped Uhuru's Karen Meeting as 2027 Political Alignment Takes Fresh Twist

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua did not attend a crucial meeting organised by the retired President in Karen, Nairobi, the Nation has reported.

According to the insiders who spoke to the Nation off camera, from the opposition, it is only Kalonzo, Karua, Tony Gachoka, and Jubilee Party officials alongside ODM Party rebels that attended the meeting, that saw Kalonzo installed as the Azimio leader. Other leaders included David Murathe, who is one of Uhuru's allies.

Likewise, it is also emerging that Mr Kenyatta is reportedly doing everything he can to ensure there is only one presidential candidate, in order to avoid repeating the mistake made by the opposition in the landmark 1992 elections, when they fielded multiple candidates and consequently handed President Daniel Moi another win when the country seemed poised for change.

All the same, it remains to be seen how the former head of state will go down with his successor William Ruto who is seeking to be re-elected.
