"Nyoka, Nyoka" Matiang'i Supporters Scamper for Safety After a Snake Slithered Onto the Dias

A Jubilee Party gathering in Nakuru on Tuesday was briefly disrupted after a snake slithered onto the dais where party leaders and supporters were seated, sending sections of the crowd scrambling for safety.

The incident occurred while Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka was addressing the meeting.

Upon noticing the unexpected 'visitor', Onyonka initially downplayed the incident, urging attendees to remain calm and ignore it.
However, the situation quickly turned tense as uneasy supporters ran for safety, forcing a temporary pause in the event.

After calm was restored, Senator Onyonka jokingly asked the crowd whether President William Ruto was behind the incident.

“Ruto ametuma nyoka hapa?” he posed.

The crowd loudly responded, “Ndiyo! Ndiyo!”, drawing laughter and cheers from the gathering.

The event was attended by Jubilee Party presidential hopeful Fred Matiang’i, alongside senior party officials and aspirants from Nakuru County.

Matiang’i has recently embarked on an aggressive campaign to strengthen Jubilee Party’s grassroots presence. The former Interior CS plans to open party offices across the country and is expected to launch new offices in Nyandarua, Murang’a, Nyamira, and Kisii before the end of the month, ahead of tours in other regions.
