"I Warned You" Senator Samson Cherargei Recalls What He Told Sifuna Earlier Before His Ouster

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has lauded the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) for what he termed as a decisive move to “restore sanity” within its ranks following the immediate removal of Senator Edwin Sifuna as Secretary General.

In a strongly worded statement, Cherargei congratulated the party leadership under Hon. Oburu Odinga for taking firm action against what he described as sustained undermining of the broad-based government framework and pre-coalition engagement talks between ODM and UDA ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

Cherargei claimed he had repeatedly cautioned Sifuna against what he termed as reckless political posturing that allegedly sabotaged delicate bipartisan negotiations. According to the senator, party discipline and unity are paramount at a time when Kenya’s political landscape is evolving toward strategic alliances.

“He ate more than he could chew,” Cherargei declared, arguing that individual ambitions should not supersede collective party interests or national stability.

The remarks are likely to intensify debate within ODM and across the broader political spectrum, as questions linger over internal party democracy and the future of ODM-UDA cooperation. As 2027 approaches, such high-profile reshuffles signal shifting alliances and mounting political recalibration across Kenya’s evolving political terrain.
