Edwin Sifuna Receives Major Boost As MPs From This Party Join Him For Kakamega Linda Wananchi Rally

Members of Parliament from the Wiper party are expected to join Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna in Kakamega for the Linda Mwananchi tour, a political initiative associated with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). The event is scheduled to take place in Kakamega town on February 21, 2026, beginning at 11.00am.

The planned visit highlights increasing cooperation between leaders from Wiper and ODM as they intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts.
The Linda Mwananchi drive has been touring different regions, aiming to engage citizens directly and strengthen support for the opposition across the country.

Among the MPs expected to attend is Mavoko legislator Patrick Makau, who has been actively involved in party mobilisation activities. Organisers say the gathering will bring together leaders from various counties, projecting unity and coordination ahead of future political contests.

Kakamega remains a key political stronghold in western Kenya, and a large turnout is anticipated. Leaders are expected to address concerns affecting ordinary Kenyans, including the high cost of living, unemployment among the youth, and challenges in accessing essential public services.

They are also likely to outline their broader political agenda and explain the objectives of the Linda Mwananchi movement.

The campaign seeks to deepen engagement at the grassroots level while reinforcing party structures in different counties. By holding rallies in strategic regions, the organisers hope to consolidate support and energise their base.

Security agencies are expected to oversee the event to maintain order and manage traffic, as political gatherings in the area often attract significant crowds.

The rally is likely to shape ongoing political discussions as opposition leaders continue to position themselves ahead of upcoming electoral battles.
