SAD: Man Commits Suicide By Setting Himself on Fire Inside His Car, Children Rescued

Residents of Kieni Village in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County, are struggling to come to terms with an incident in which a local businessman tragically took his own life by setting his car on fire.

According to witnesses, the man had locked himself inside his car together with his two children before starting the fire. 

The terrified children’s cries for help quickly drew the attention of neighbors, who rushed to the scene.

Residents managed to rescue the children, who sustained minor injuries. 

Sadly, the businessman could not be saved and was burnt beyond recognition as the fire quickly engulfed the car.

Police officers and other emergency responders arrived shortly after and secured the area. 

The charred remains of the deceased were removed from the scene and taken to the mortuary pending a postmortem examination.


The children were rushed to safety and later taken to hospital for medical attention and counseling.

Police have not yet established the motive behind the tragic incident, and investigations have been launched to determine what may have driven the man to take his own life in such a manner. 

They have also appealed to residents with any information that might assist the ongoing investigation to come forward.
