According to the advisory issued by the Kenya Meteorological Department, a huge section of the country will remain sunny and dry, while selected counties in six regions are expected to receive intermittent rainfall beginning Tuesday, December 9 through Monday, December 15.
The notice revealed variations in temperature as well, with some regions likely to record a high of 30°C during the day and lows dropping to 10°C at night, mainly in high-altitude zones.

The department projected that large parts of Northeastern, Northwestern, Coast and sections of the Rift Valley will continue experiencing stable sunny days.
“Most parts of the country are likely to be sunny and dry. However, occasional rainfall is expected in a few areas within the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Rift Valley, the Coast and the Southeastern lowlands,” read part of the advisory issued on Tuesday.

Kakamega, Bungoma, Nandi, Busia, Siaya, Kericho, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Bomet, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nakuru, West Pokot, Narok and Baringo.
Most of these areas will experience sunny intervals during daytime. Light showers and thunderstorms may be experienced in select locations, especially later in the day.
2. Northwestern Kenya
Counties affected:
Turkana and Samburu
The weather is expected to remain largely hot and sunny. Short showers may be experienced occasionally but in isolated zones.
3. Highlands East of the Rift Valley
Including: Nairobi, Kiambu, Nyeri, Murang’a, Embu, Kirinyaga, Tharaka-Nithi, Meru, Laikipia and Nyandarua
Morning cloudiness is expected, giving way to sunny conditions towards midday. The forecast also indicates a high chance of scattered light rain in some pockets, especially in the evenings.

Counties listed: Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo
Even though the forecast remains predominantly dry, there is a possibility of short rainfall in selected localities. Mild night conditions are expected under partly cloudy skies.

Counties affected: Machakos, Kitui, Kajiado, Taita Taveta and parts of Tana River
Sunny daytime conditions will dominate these areas with occasional rainfall expected over a few parts, particularly in the afternoons and at night.
