Source Reveals Political Route Babu Owino Would Take Amid Threats of Ditching ODM Party

A report by the Daily Nation media group on Sunday 21st December has disclosed to the public political route that Member of Parliament (MP) representing Embakasi East constituency in the National Assembly Hon Babu Owino would take, should he ditch the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party in the upcoming days.

As per the report, over the past few months, Babu Owino has been rubbing shoulders with ODM top principals over his quest for the Nairobi county gubernatorial seat, and his stand against the Broad-Based Government arrangement, a move that top party officials are likening to lack of discipline.

Though it has not yet been established who the party is seeking to front to challenge incumbent Governor Johnson Sakaja from the county's top seat, Babu Owino has affirmed that he is willing to take the Independent route and make his 2027 political ambitions a reality.

Meanwhile, Babu Owino has already hinted that he is already contemplating on ditching the ODM party and fully focus on the Kenya Moja alliance, which he described as "the only force" that is ready to oppose the Broad-Based arrangement by working within the correct principles and promoting democracy.

Aside from Babu Owino, other youthful ODM leaders who have already expressed strong interest in joining the Kenya Moja alliance include, Hon Edwin Sifuna who doubles up as ODM party Secretary General (SG) and Saboti constituency MP Hon Caleb Amisi who have continued to voice against UDA-ODM collaboration.

Aside from the three, others who are inclined towards the new faction are Hon Jack Wamboka (Bumula), Clive Gesairo (Kitutu Masaba), Gathoni Wamuchomba (Githunguri), Antony Kibagendi (Kitutu Chache South), Joshua Kimilu (Kaiti Constituency), Majimbo Kalasinga (Kabuchai) and Obadiah Barongo of Bomachoge Borabu Constituency.
