While sharing the tribulations he has allegedly been undergoing while serving as the Homa Bay county Deputy Governor, Joseph Oyugi Mangwanga who had an exclusive interview with the Daily Nation, disclosed to the public what was sent to his home during the recent 27th November 2025, Kasipul constituency by-elections, that has left him living in fear.
As per his pronouncement, during the Kasipul by-elections, a suspicious drone was sent to his home by unknown individuals, to conduct aerial checks on what was happening at his residence. According to him, that has left him living in extreme fear.
Aside from that, Mangwanga moved on to indicate that over the past few weeks when the terrible fallout between him and Gladys Wanga boiled over, unknown individuals have been tracking his phone to find out who he has been communicating with.
The same, he claims has also been done to his office staff, motive behind that still unknown.
Prior to his revelation, Oyugi Mangwanga also recounted an incident that occurred in May 2025, when he faced a security threat, after unknown armed individuals made an attempt at his life, as he approached the gate to his home at around 9 PM.
Recalled by many, the incident which went on to attract huge attention had occured barely two days after the burial former Kasipul constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Charles Were, who was recently succeeded by his son Hon Boyd Were, who was being supported by Wanga while Oyugi Mangwanga leaned his weight behind Independent candidate Philip Aroko.
Mangwanga indicated that he opted not to support Boyd Were, accusing the ODM party of daylight unfairness when issuing the party's ticket, a mission he claimed was planned orchestrated at Were's home.
