Kanyari’s Close Ally Raises Alarm Over Welfare of His Children After Funeral

A close associate of Prophet Victor Kanyari has expressed concern over the situation surrounding the late gospel singer Betty Bayo’s children, urging those who handled the funeral arrangements to meet urgently and discuss their welfare. 

The man, who has worked closely with Kanyari for many years, spoke emotionally after seeing how the matter had turned into a public debate, saying it was beginning to affect the family negatively.

The man, identifying himself as a long-time personal assistant, shared that Kanyari was deeply affected by his former wife’s death. 

According to him, although the pastor has not spoken much about his emotions publicly, he has struggled since the burial and is worried about the future of the children.

The assistant recalled seeing Kanyari looking distressed and overwhelmed, saying many outsiders do not understand the emotional pressure he has been under. 

He said that matters involving children should never become a subject of arguments on the internet and urged the funeral committee to settle outstanding issues quietly and respectfully.

One of his main concerns was money reportedly collected to support Betty’s children after her passing. 

He said that since the children remain the most affected by the tragedy, responsible adults should make sure that whatever help was raised gets properly handled.

He named several religious and community figures who participated in the funeral arrangements and appealed to them to come together once more—this time not for ceremonies, but for accountability.

He insisted that respected voices should mediate and ensure resources do not become a source of conflict.

According to him, “when people with influence observe disputes involving innocent children, most step back.” 

He warned that the matter could lead to unnecessary embarrassment if not addressed.

Part of his appeal focused on stopping individuals from making accusations or emotional claims on social media. He noted that once family disputes are aired publicly, they escalate faster than expected.

He cautioned that disagreements may go viral and cause humiliation, adding that no child deserves to grow up knowing a public dispute happened over funds meant for them.

He also said that the right platform for resolving such issues is through dialogue—not livestream videos, public comments, or online confrontations.

The assistant suggested that respected community leaders and church representatives convene a meeting specifically to review what was raised, where it was directed, and what plans exist moving forward. 

He explained that this was not about defending his boss, but about avoiding prolonged confusion regarding children left behind.

He also asked leaders who presided over the funeral to step up once again, saying the same people who took responsibility then should not distance themselves now that accountability is required.

His statement sparked different reactions from Kenyans online. Some supported his call, saying transparency was necessary so that misunderstandings do not spread further. 

Others felt he was defending Kanyari, arguing that the details of the funds were private and that online debate would not solve anything.

Many commenters expressed fears that such disputes could expose the children to unnecessary negativity, encouraging both sides to handle the matter privately.

Human-interest analysts and counsellors have often warned families about turning grief-related matters into arguments.
