David Ndii Alleges What's Happening in Country That Used to be Ahead of Kenya in 1980

Head of President William Ruto's Economic Advisors, David Ndii, has admitted that the country is moving backwards instead of progressing on matters the economy.

Ndii says Kenya has since been overtaken by some of the countries it used to lead some years back, including Indonesia.

He claims that despite Kenya being ahead of Indonesia in 1980, the Indonesian economy is now big enough to give aid, as Kenya remains an aid recipient.

He has also appeared to suggest that corruption has nothing to do with economic progress, given it remains a big issue in Indonesia but not affected the country's success.

"Up until 1980, Kenya was wealthier than Indonesia. Today Indonesia gives Kenya aid (7th largest economy in the world in PPP$) notwithstanding that Suharto regime was ranked higher than Kenya in corruption," he says in an X.

Ndii, who has repeatedly claimed that fighting corruption is not one of their priorities, has also claimed that even the countries Kenya is looking up to, like Singapore, are controlled by corrupt elites.

"Corruption is not a capital offence in Singapore. South Korea was transformed by a very corrupt elite, as was Suharto’s Indonesia. Suharto still tops the global kleptocrats wealth index."

This comes as President William Ruto continues to promise to make Kenya similar to Singapore through his ideologies and policies.

The Head of State has claimed that he has plans to make Kenya a first world country if Kenyans re-elect him in the 2027 election and hand him another term in State House.
