"Wote Walikufa" Natembeya Sends Hard-Hitting Message to IEBC Chairperson Ahead of 2027 Elections

Governor George Natembeya has sparked fresh political heat after issuing a stern warning to the IEBC chairman as the country heads toward the 2027 elections.

He evoked the fate of past commissioners whom he accused of undermining the will of the people, stressing that “wote walikufa” to emphasize the gravity of electoral betrayal.

Natembeya made the remarks during a charged public address where he urged the current IEBC leadership to uphold transparency.

He insisted that any attempt to manipulate the people’s voice would attract harsh consequences, whether political or moral.

He reminded the chairman that Kenyans are increasingly alert to electoral misconduct and are ready to defend their democratic rights.
According to him, the era of silent manipulation is gone, and institutions must operate with integrity.

The governor stated that elections are a sacred process, and any official entrusted with them must maintain neutrality.

He noted that commissioners who previously attempted to interfere with results ultimately faced the consequences of their actions.

Natembeya emphasized that his message was not a threat but a historical reminder of what happens when public office is abused.

He argued that leaders must learn from past events rather than repeat mistakes that erode public trust.

He also urged political players to allow the IEBC to function independently and avoid influencing decisions behind closed doors. He insisted that credible elections are the foundation of national stability.

The governor maintained that the 2027 contest must reflect the true voice of citizens without fear or interference.

He warned that attempts to manipulate the process would not only fail but also expose those involved to public rejection.

Natembeya concluded by calling for vigilance as preparations for 2027 intensify.

He urged Kenyans to demand accountability while reminding the IEBC chairman that history has already shown the fate of those who play with the people’s mandate.
