"Wakenya Si Wajinga" Matiang'i Dismisses Ruto's Huge Crowds During Development Rallies

Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Fred Matiang’i has launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto’s administration, accusing government allies of ferrying crowds to presidential events to create the impression of popularity ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during a public forum, Matiang’i criticised what he termed as “cheap political theatrics,” saying state resources were being misused to stage-manage support instead of addressing the real challenges facing Kenyans.

He pointed out that during Ruto’s recent rally in Ukambani - where the President appeared to receive a warm reception, critics insist the crowd was mobilised using money and buses.

Matiang’i further accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of rolling back progress made in the education sector under the Jubilee government.

"All the gains we made in the education sector are being reversed by recklessness, incompetence and failure on the part of our fellow citizens who are running government. That is why we want to go back to office because we know how to do it,” he stated.

He argued that confirming teachers and ensuring they are paid should be prioritised over political handouts and flashy rallies.

According to him, spending public funds on mobilisation while schools struggle is unacceptable and shows misplaced government priorities.
