Political activist, Morara Kebaso, has claimed that the opposition has already lost the 2027 battle to President William Ruto.
Kebaso has opined that this is because opposition politicians are investing more on tribal politics instead of basing their campaigns on national issues.
He has further admitted that the once strong youth movement has since collapsed and handed over to the opposition, which is not offering any better alternative.
According to Kebaso, it will be impossible to defeat Ruto using the opposition's current tact, since he has the benefit of incumbency.
He has also predicted that many of the people in the opposition will soon be seen crossing over to Ruto's side, thanks to his deep pockets.
“No one can defeat a sitting president by using a tribal matrix, especially if he has over Ksh200 billion budget for his campaign," he says on X.
"He will buy all the tribal kingpins except the tribe that hates him passionately and quickly and successfully run a campaign against one tribe."
In his view, even the opposition leaders know they stand no chance, and are only campaigning to secure MPs, after which they will negotiate with Ruto after the election.
