Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo has responded playfully after veteran politician Oburu Odinga revealed that he once silently admired her.
Speaking with her characteristic humour, Millie said she was surprised to learn that Oburu, who currently serves as the ODM party leader, once had an unspoken admiration for her. She jokingly referred to him as the “youth leader,” poking fun at his age while maintaining a light-hearted tone.
“I have heard that the ‘youth leader’ confessed he used to admire me. I can’t believe my party leader,” Millie said, laughing. “He just admired me silently, looking at a beautiful girl like me, until a Zimbabwean man came and took me away.”
She went on to tease that if Oburu had made his move earlier, things might have turned out differently for her. “Now that he is the party leader, I could have been in a good place, but that opportunity has now passed me by,” she added humorously.
The exchange between the two long-serving ODM politicians has since amused many Kenyans online, who praised Millie for her quick wit and Oburu for his candid revelation.
Both leaders share a long history in Kenyan politics under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), and their light-hearted banter has added a refreshing dose of humour to the usually tense political scene.
Social media users have since flooded the comments section with laughter and playful reactions, describing the interaction as one of the most entertaining political moments of the year.
