Manyora Identifies the Only Female Leader Who Could Stop Ruto in 2027

Political analyst Herman Manyora has today, 23 November 2025, offered a bold prediction that has shaken the national political conversation.

In a video released this evening, Manyora said that Mama Ida Odinga, the widow of the late opposition leader Raila Odinga, is the only political figure who can outshine all top contenders including President William Ruto if she chooses to run for president in 2027.

According to Manyora, Ida Odinga carries a unique combination of sympathy, legacy, national respect, and emotional connection that no other candidate currently commands.

He believes her entry into the race would completely reshape Kenya’s political landscape.

Manyora argued that the overwhelming love Kenyans have shown following Raila Odinga’s death is evidence enough that Ida Odinga would attract a massive support base nationwide.

“I’m telling you, if Ida Odinga decides to run, everybody including top political bigwigs will want to be her running mate. She will attract sympathy votes like never seen before. Look at what is happening in Bondo, at Kango ka Jaramogi,” Manyora said.

For nearly a month since Raila’s death, thousands of Kenyans continue to travel to Kango Ka Jaramogi in Bondo to view Raila’s grave, pay tribute, and comfort the Odinga family.

Manyora says this alone shows the level of emotional influence the family still holds in national politics.

He added that Ida Odinga’s stature, long history in public life, and her symbolic connection to Raila’s decades of political struggle would give her an edge over all current opposition figures, including Kalonzo Musyoka, Rigathi Gachagua, and Fred Matiang’i.

The United Opposition has not yet unveiled its 2027 flagbearer, with several names still being floated. But Manyora insists that if Ida Odinga were to enter the race, she would instantly become the front-runner.
