Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has announced a major breakthrough in the Malava parliamentary by-election after DNA party candidate Joab Burudi Manyasi withdrew from the race and formally endorsed the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate, David Ndakwa.
Speaking during a meeting with local leaders and supporters, Mudavadi praised the decision as a unifying step that strengthens the government’s chances in the upcoming poll.
“Victory is indeed coming,” Mudavadi declared, expressing confidence that David Ndakwa is now better positioned to triumph over his main opponent, Seth Panyako.
According to insiders, Mudavadi played a key role in negotiating the agreement that led to Manyasi’s exit from the contest.
The PCS emphasized that the move reflects growing support for the government’s agenda in Kakamega County.
Manyasi, while officially announcing his withdrawal, said his decision was driven by the desire to support a candidate aligned with the ruling administration.
The development is expected to significantly reshape the dynamics of the Malava by-election, with analysts noting that consolidating support behind Ndakwa could give the government an upper hand in what has been shaping up to be a competitive race.
As campaigns intensify, Mudavadi reiterated the government’s commitment to delivering development across the Western region and urged voters to give Ndakwa a mandate that would strengthen collaboration between Malava and the national leadership.
