Kabando Alleges What Ruto Might be Doing Upon Realising he Can't Win in 2027

Former Mukurweini Member of Parliament Kabando wa Kabando has questioned the credibility of the results announced by the IEBC following Thursday’s by-elections.

Kabando alleges that the outcomes, particularly in Malava, Mbeere North and Magarini, were manipulated to favour President William Ruto, his UDA party, and their allies in ODM.

According to the former legislator, the pattern seen in these mini polls signals what Kenyans should expect in the 2027 general election.

He claims President Ruto has realised that winning a transparent contest might be impossible for him, and could therefore resort to what he describes as interference with the electoral process.

Kabando argues that the united opposition must accept this reality and strategically prepare for what he views as an attempt by the President to tilt the political field in his favour.

“If the by-elections have shown anything, it is the naked fact that Ruto is not ready for any clean elections, not now, not 2027,” he claims on X.

He insists that the opposition must organise itself around this understanding.

“We, the United Opposition, must realise and organise on and around this fact. This way, our success guaranteed.”

Despite expressing concerns about alleged manipulation, Kabando maintains that President Ruto’s defeat in 2027 is unavoidable.

"Dear Ruto, you will not rule Kenya by evil for evil in evil. We will soon defeat you. We won't accept any of your shenanigans. Your date with destiny on Tuesday 10th August 2027 inevitable. It could come earlier.”

Kabando further noted it was encouraging that the opposition—particularly the recently formed DCP party—secured several MCA seats despite being only months old.
