DCP Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua has accused CCK party of secretly working for President William Ruto in the Mbeere North by-election.
Gachagua claimed that the CCK party leader Moses Kuria, who parted ways with the ruling party this year, was allegedly hiding under opposition while secretly working for the government.
He warned locals not to elect CCK candidate Duncan Mbui, alleging that it will be like "throwing away votes".
He acknowledged that the by-election was a two horse race between DP party candidate and UDA candidate.

Gachagua last Sunday rolled out an aggressive door-to-door campaign in Mbeere North in a bid to secure victory for Democratic Party candidate Newton ‘Karish’ Kariuki.
His entry into the race sets the stage for a fierce showdown, coming just as Deputy President Kithure Kindiki pitched camp in the constituency, vowing not to leave until the UDA candidate, Leonard Wamuthende Leo, clinches the seat.
The intensified last-minute push has turned Mbeere North into a political battleground, widely seen as a defining test of Gachagua’s influence in the larger Mount Kenya region.
On the other side, DP Kindiki has urged residents to rally behind the UDA flagbearer, insisting Wamuthende is best positioned to champion the completion of ongoing government projects.
He assured voters that key development programmes will be fast-tracked, with more set to be unveiled to uplift livelihoods across the constituency.
With both camps transversing across the constituency, the by-election has turned into a contest of supremacy between government loyalists and Gachagua’s mounting grassroots influence.
