“Baba’s Vision Betrayed" Caleb Amisi Says Pretenders Have Taken Over Raila’s Legacy

Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has launched a bold attack on leaders within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), accusing them of betraying the values that Raila Odinga stood for.

Speaking with deep emotion, Amisi said that those currently leading the party are mere pretenders who never truly believed in Raila’s struggle for justice and democracy.

According to Amisi, many of the people who now claim to speak on behalf of Raila’s movement were never part of his long and painful journey.

He said they have simply taken advantage of the strong support base that Raila built over decades of sacrifice.

“Baba Raila Odinga left behind people who are only using his name to advance their own interests,” Amisi said.

He reminded Kenyans that the idea of a broad-based movement was not born out of political convenience but through years of hard work and personal pain.

Raila, he said, endured imprisonment, exile, and political humiliation to fight against bad governance and defend the rights of ordinary citizens.

Amisi questioned how some leaders can now use Raila’s name to justify silence in the face of injustice and abuse of power.

The MP criticized the current ODM leadership for failing to stand up when Kenyans face oppression, saying that true followers of Raila’s ideals would never remain quiet while citizens suffer.

“If Baba were here, he would have spoken out. He never feared the government or political consequences when the people were in pain,” Amisi said firmly.

He called on ODM members to rediscover the party’s original spirit of courage and truth, warning that silence in the face of wrongdoing dishonors Raila’s legacy.

“We must not celebrate with those who oppress Kenyans,” he said.

“We must remember why ODM was formed to fight for justice, not to protect power.”
