Kenyans have been left wondering what moved retired President Uhuru Kenyatta to return to Bondo barely a day after former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was laid to rest.
In a short video that has gone viral, Uhuru is seen standing quietly beside Raila’s grave, his head bowed and hands clasped in prayer, as those around him watched in complete silence.
No speeches, no cameras, just a moment of deep emotion that left many asking—what was Uhuru praying for?
The visit, which came unannounced, is believed to have been a private act of respect and remembrance for a man he once called a brother and comrade in Kenya’s long struggle for democracy.
During Raila’s state funeral on Sunday, Uhuru had given a moving tribute, describing the ODM leader as a visionary who dedicated his life to building peace and unity across the nation.
He spoke of Raila’s unmatched courage and recalled their bond that transcended politics, built on mutual trust and a shared dream for a better Kenya.
“May God guide him on his final journey,” Uhuru had said during the funeral, his voice heavy with emotion.
Raila, who died on October 15 while undergoing treatment in India, was buried with full state honors at his Bondo home, in a ceremony that drew thousands of mourners.
But it was Uhuru’s quiet return his silent prayer over the grave that has captured the nation’s heart, leaving Kenyans to wonder what message lay unspoken in that solemn moment.

He went to talk personal with his elder brother, that is not a problem
ReplyDeleteHow can you say, " No cameras" yet I can see the photo? How was it taken?
DeleteIt is expected of a righteous man. Private prayers are more strong for God to listen as at maximum concentration. We are not supposed to judge a conversation between a person and his creator. Have a blessed time.
DeleteIs there any problem!?
