"Walikuwa Na Visu" Daylight Drama as 3 Gangsters Are Burnt To Death After Looting Supermarket In Machakos

Tension gripped the Kaathi area in Kimutwa Location, Machakos County, after three suspected gangsters were lynched by an angry mob following a daring supermarket robbery.

According to reports, the men are said to have broken into a local supermarket at night, making away with goods valued in millions.

The theft was discovered early in the morning when residents found the premises with shattered doors and shelves stripped bare.

The incident immediately sparked outrage, with locals vowing to trace those behind the crime.

Area administrators confirmed that members of the public launched a search that led to the suspects’ hideout.

Stolen goods were reportedly recovered during the operation.

The suspects were then dragged to the Kaathi trading centre, where irate residents descended on them before setting them ablaze in broad daylight.

Police officers arrived at the scene moments later but found the trio already dead.

The charred remains were taken to Machakos County Referral Hospital Mortuary for preservation as investigations into the incident continue.

Authorities have since condemned the mob justice, warning residents against taking the law into their own hands.

They emphasised that such actions not only compromise investigations but also amount to a criminal offence.

Security officials further noted that while the frustration over rising cases of theft in the area is understood, suspects should always be handed over to police for due process.

The incident has reignited debate over increasing crime rates in trading centres across Machakos and the broader region, with calls for enhanced patrols and community policing initiatives to protect businesses and residents from further attacks.
