"Ticking Time Bomb" MP Caleb Amisi Predicts GenZ Possible Comeback Days After Ruto Aligned With Gideon Moi

Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has cautioned Kenyans against mistaking the current quietness of the youth as a sign of defeat, warning that it is only a temporary calm before another possible wave of resistance.

In a strongly worded statement on Sunday, October 12, 2025, Amisi said the silence of Generation Z should be seen as a strategic retreat rather than surrender.

Amisi argued that the same frustrations that fuelled last year’s nationwide protests, unemployment, corruption, and recycled political elites, remain unresolved, making another uprising inevitable unless real reforms are implemented.

“The silence of #GenZ should not be construed as submission. It is a ticking time bomb. The more you bring back my cabal to the system, the more wood to the fire,” Amisi wrote on X.

The outspoken legislator criticised the recent political reunion between President William Ruto and former Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, terming it a betrayal of the country’s youth who have been fighting to dismantle the old political order.

Amisi warned that reviving individuals linked to past regimes only deepens frustration among young people seeking genuine change.

Amisi maintained that Kenya needs a national rebirth driven by fairness, accountability, and opportunities for all not political patronage and favouritism.

His sentiments come amid renewed debate about youth participation in governance. Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga recently faulted Gen Z for demanding change yet failing to register as voters, while retired civic educator Morara Kebaso argued that Kenya has slid back into the pre-Gen Z era of “kingship politics.”

Amisi’s warning portrays a growing tension in Kenya’s political landscape, one that could soon awaken the spirit of defiance that shook the nation in 2024.
