Another likely option is Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi. Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga also features on the list. Choosing Wanga could help Ruto gain support from the Luo Nyanza region, traditionally an opposition stronghold. It would also symbolize a gesture of goodwill toward the late Raila Odinga’s political base, possibly opening new alliances ahead of the polls.
Former Mombasa Governor and current Cabinet Secretary for Mining and Blue Economy, Ali Hassan Joho, is also being considered. Joho’s influence in the coastal region and his vibrant political style could help Ruto attract more votes from the Coast, an area often dominated by opposition politics.
