Puzzle As Cop Who Allegedly Killed Woman During Raila's Night Vigil In Homabay Contacts Family; Here's What He Told Them

Yvonne Lucy was shot and killed during a night vigil for Raila Odinga in Homa Bay, and her family is now raising serious concerns about how the case is being handled.

The incident occurred on October 17 when a police officer fired a bullet to disperse a crowd, which accidentally struck Yvonne.

While the police have stated that the shooting was unintentional and have arrested the officer involved, the family is not satisfied with how things are progressing.

Felix Onyango, Yvonne’s brother, is particularly troubled. He expressed disbelief that the officer, who was supposed to be in custody, managed to contact them.

"This is the person who killed my sister, and he knows me. They said they arrested him, but it feels like he is a free man," he said.

His concerns grew when the officer called several times asking for forgiveness, claiming the shooting was a mistake.

Adding to their worries, Onyango mentioned an unsettling encounter with another police officer while he was in the hospital after his sister’s surgery.

This officer asked him if the bullet had been found inside her body and wanted to take it.

This request raised alarm bells for the family, making them question the integrity of the investigation.

Yvonne’s father, Joakim Oketch, also shared his feelings about the situation.

He revealed that the same officer had reached out to him through a mutual friend, seeking forgiveness for his actions.

Oketch responded firmly, stating, “He killed my daughter, and he is now asking for forgiveness through my friends.

It makes me think he did it on purpose.” He emphasized that his main priority is to seek justice for Yvonne.

The family is adamant that the case should remain in Homa Bay, where the incident occurred.

They are unwilling to transfer it to a different location unless directed by a court.

“My daughter must get justice,” Oketch insisted, highlighting their determination to see the matter resolved fairly.
