Sorrow As Man Allegedly Beats His Wife To Death, Delivers Her Body To A Mortuary Before Fleeing

A man was reported to have allegedly beaten his wife to death in Makaburini slums, on the outskirts of Kakamega Town in Kakamega County.

The suspect, identified as Kassim Wamatsa, a shoe shiner operating at Muliro Gardens, hails from Lunani Village in Lurambi Sub-county.

According to reports, the incident occurred on the night of Sunday, October 5.

Neighbours claimed that the suspect began assaulting his wife at around 7 p.m., and despite hearing her cries for help, no one intervened, as domestic fights between the couple were reportedly common.

Sources further revealed that Wamatsa later took his wife’s lifeless body to a nearby hospital, claiming she had been attacked by neighbours.

He is then said to have transferred the body to the Kakamega County Funeral Parlour, where he left it before going into hiding.

Following the incident, angry residents stormed his house, demanding justice for the deceased. When they failed to find him, they threw out and destroyed his belongings in protest.

Police officers have since arrested the suspect and confirmed that investigations into the brutal killing are ongoing.

Photos shared online showed emotional scenes as locals gathered outside the couple’s house, watching in disbelief as household items lay strewn across the compound.

Police have since urged couples to seek peaceful ways of resolving conflicts instead of resorting to violenc
