"Kalonzo is Next" Wamumbi Predicts Kalonzo’s State House Visit After Uhuru and Moi Meetings

Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi has claimed that Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka will soon make his way to State House.

Speaking on Wednesday, Wamumbi suggested that the visit could happen within weeks, following a trend of top political figures meeting President William Ruto.

He noted that former President Uhuru Kenyatta recently met Ruto at State House, marking the first such meeting since the tense 2022 elections.

Wamumbi added that Gideon Moi had also been hosted by the President, fueling speculation of a broader reconciliation effort among Kenya’s political elite.

According to Wamumbi, Kalonzo’s visit appears inevitable given the growing number of former opposition figures reaching out to Ruto.

He humorously remarked that the Wiper leader might soon be “taken around State House while holding a cup of tea,” a phrase meant to suggest cordial talks rather than confrontation.

The remarks have stirred mixed reactions across the political divide, with some interpreting them as evidence of ongoing behind-the-scenes negotiations.

Supporters of Kalonzo, however, dismissed the comments as political propaganda meant to undermine his firm stance in the opposition.

Kalonzo has repeatedly ruled out joining Ruto’s administration, insisting that his loyalty lies with the opposition.

He has maintained that Kenya needs a strong watchdog to hold the government accountable amid rising concerns over governance and the economy.

Political analysts believe the recent wave of meetings between Ruto and former rivals could be part of a strategy to stabilize the political environment ahead of 2027.

Others argue it is a calculated move by Ruto to neutralize dissent by bringing former critics closer.
