'Shock For Murang’a Taxi Driver As He Unknowingly Delivers Woman’s Body As Parcel

Detectives in Murang’a County have arrested four people after a shocking incident where a woman’s body was delivered to Kangari Police Station disguised as a parcel.

The case has left residents in disbelief and raised many questions about how the crime was planned.

According to police reports, a taxi driver was approached by a man wearing a black hoodie and jeans in Makomboki.

The man asked him to deliver what he called a “package” to Kangari, claiming that someone would be waiting to pick it up.

The driver was paid in cash and told that the recipient was traveling to Nairobi.

The driver, however, became suspicious during the journey. The package was unusually heavy, wrapped in sacks, paper bags, and blankets.

When the supposed recipient failed to appear, the driver decided to head straight to Kangari Police Station instead of leaving it at the drop-off point.

At the station, officers unwrapped the parcel and discovered the body of a woman believed to be between 45 and 50 years old.

The body was dressed in several layers of clothing and covered with blankets.

Among the items found was a blazer with the logo of Gatanga CCM Secondary School.

The remains were later moved to AIC Githumu Hospital mortuary for a postmortem and identification.

Family members later identified the deceased as Hannah Wanjiku, a 53-year-old mother of six.

Relatives said she had separated from her husband months earlier after suffering domestic violence.

She had been living in Njiru village, working as a tea picker to support her children.

Detectives arrested four people, including two of Hannah’s sons and her estranged husband.

Investigators are still piecing together the role each suspect played in the murder and the attempt to dispose of her body in such a disturbing manner.

The taxi driver is also assisting police with his statement about how the package was handed to him.

Residents of Kangari and the wider Murang’a region have expressed shock at the case.

Many said the cruel act showed a worrying trend of violence within families.

Local leaders have called for calm and urged police to ensure justice for the victim.
