In a strongly worded Facebook post on Friday, July 18, Kalonzo dismissed the speculation, branding it as false and politically mischievous.
Using the hashtags #NoUDAWiperMerger and #WANTAMisREAL, he reaffirmed Wiper’s commitment to the opposition, making it clear that the party will not be part of any coalition with the ruling Kenya Kwanza administration.
The denial comes amid growing political speculation following recent comments made by Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi, who hinted at the possibility of Kalonzo working collaboratively with both Raila Odinga and William Ruto in a future national unity framework.

I“I respect Kalnzo Musyoka very much; he is a very good friend of mine. I am confident that going forward, he will work with Raila Odinga and President Ruto to move Kenya forward,” Wandayi said during an event in Kitui County.
However, Kalonzo's camp was quick to respond. The Wiper party's official X account echoed the party leader’s sentiment, writing: “#NoUDAWiperMerger, #Wantam.”
The strong denial also comes on the back of Kalonzo’s recent criticism of President Ruto’s leadership. During a televised interview on July 9, Kalonzo declared that the current administration had failed to deliver on its campaign promises and that many Kenyans had lost hope in Ruto’s leadership.
“In fact, Kenyans are saying, why should you people be giving us manifestos? The only agenda we believe in now is one term,” Kalonzo stated, referencing the growing “One Term” movement that challenges Ruto’s reelection prospects in 2027.
Kalonzo emphasized that the opposition has a constitutional role to challenge non-performing administrations and rally Kenyans toward accountability. He also accused the government of betraying the so-called hustler nation.
“Ruto and his team came in saying they would uplift mama mbogas, employ the youth, and fight poverty. But now, more Kenyans have fallen below the poverty line,” he said.
