"Na Niliwaonya Lakini Hamkuskia" Uhuru Recalls Warning Kenyans Against Electing Ruto

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again spoken about the state of the country, blaming the suffering of Kenyans on poor decisions made during the 2022 elections.

Speaking during the Jubilee Party National Delegates Conference in Nairobi on Friday, September 26, Uhuru said that he had warned Kenyans against electing William Ruto but his warning was ignored.

Uhuru explained that his caution was not based on personal differences but on his experience as a leader.

He said good leadership comes from learning from past successes, improving them, and avoiding repeated mistakes.

According to him, Ruto’s leadership style was already visible before the 2022 vote, but many voters chose not to listen.

“In the last election, I tried to advise Kenyans, but my words were lost in the noise of propaganda and insults.

My message fell on deaf ears, and today Kenyans are suffering because of that choice,” Uhuru said.

The former president accused the current administration of abandoning important projects that had been started before he left office.

He said many of his policies had been canceled and replaced with new, untested programs that are not working.

“Much of the progress we made as a nation has been destroyed. In its place, we now see experiments that are failing, while Kenyans wait in pain.

People are struggling as leaders dwell on speeches instead of real development,” he added.

Uhuru also spoke about his fallout with Ruto, reminding delegates that the two had worked closely during their first term in power.

However, after the 2018 handshake between Uhuru and Raila Odinga, the relationship between him and Ruto collapsed.

Uhuru said he had reasons to support Raila in 2022, claiming that Ruto had already shown behavior that was not fit for national leadership.

Despite Uhuru’s campaign against him, Ruto won the 2022 election with 7.1 million votes, defeating Raila who had 6.9 million.

His Kenya Kwanza alliance promised economic change and new opportunities for ordinary citizens.

Uhuru now believes the reality is different from the promises.

He told Kenyans that ignoring advice has come at a heavy cost.

“We chose stories over truth, and now it is our people who are paying the price,” he said.
