The former Mathira Member of Parliament admitted that the Head of State is astute; knowing that one day his allies might abandon him, he formed a multi-agency team to gather evidence and create files on all Kenyan leaders that he could use to blackmail MPs if they attempted to abandon him ahead of the 2027 elections.
“He is a smart man; he knew one day these guys could shortchange him, and they can abandon him.
Speaking on September 21, 2025, the former deputy president stated that the MPs should prepare to stick with Dr Ruto to the end, and go home together.
Gachagua warned that for those who dare abandon the president, he will use the files to blackmail the MPs ahead of the 2027 elections.
“I want to tell all these members of parliament that you will have to stick with Ruto to the end; you will go home together. The minute you try to move and abandon him, he will have a file on all of you,” he noted.
In addition, he warned the MPs and senators who took money during the impeachment of former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, and passing of the finance bill not to abandon him, or else he will come after them.
"Ruto has a file on all senators and MPs who took money during my impeachment and finance bill, as well as those who have taken money for various things in Parliament, and none of you will be able to abandon him," he said.
