A Murang’a family is still in shock after two young children were allegedly killed by their own mother in a tragic knife attack. 

The painful incident, which happened on Friday, September 19, left the community in deep grief and raised serious questions about mental health and domestic violence.

The children, identified as Leon, aged eight, and Rael, just 18 months old, lost their lives during the early morning attack. Another sibling survived but was left with serious injuries.

On Tuesday, September 30, relatives, friends, and neighbors gathered for the burial of the two little ones. The most heartbreaking moment came when their father viewed the bodies at the morgue.

A video that has since moved many people showed the grieving dad struggling to hold back his tears. Surrounded by relatives who tried to comfort him, he bent over the caskets, gazing at the lifeless bodies of his children.

At one point, he stepped back, only to return again to take another painful look. A pastor standing nearby was heard saying, “Allow him to finish, give him way,” as mourners gave the father space to pour out his grief.

During the burial service, a tribute written by the father was read aloud by a family member. His words captured both his pain and his deep love for the children he had now lost.

“To Leon and Rael, I loved you and never got tired of you. I always made sure to be there whenever you needed me. The Lord works in hidden ways, and I believe all will be well. Go well, and we shall meet again, God willing,” the tribute read.
