REVEALED: The Two Items Rev Ndumia’s Killers Were Found With Before Being Arrested

Fresh details have emerged in the investigation into the killing of Julius Ndumia after detectives revealed that suspects linked to the murder were allegedly found in possession of two critical items belonging to the slain pastor.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the suspects were reportedly found with Rev Ndumia’s mobile phone and SIM cards shortly after the fatal attack.

Investigators say the recovered items are now being treated as key evidence in the ongoing probe and have been forwarded to the National Forensic Laboratory for detailed analysis.

Police believe the devices could help detectives trace communication records, financial transactions and movements connected to the suspects after the killing.

Inspector Geoffrey Tegei reportedly informed the court that the forensic examination would be important in establishing whether the pastor’s phone was used for suspicious activity following his death.

Authorities are particularly interested in determining whether fraudulent M-Pesa or mobile banking transactions may have been conducted using the recovered phone and SIM cards.

The case relates to the violent attack that occurred on May 3, 2026, at PCEA Tabuga Parish in Lanet, Nakuru County.

According to detectives, four armed attackers allegedly entered the church compound late at night before targeting the pastor at his residence.

Investigators claim the suspects first confronted the security guard on duty, identified as Bernard Nyamwaka, before overpowering and assaulting him.

The guard was allegedly held hostage and forced to guide the attackers to the cleric’s house inside the compound.

Police further believe the attackers used deception to gain entry into the pastor’s residence by pretending to be police officers carrying out an official operation.

Detectives handling the case say Rev Ndumia reportedly opened the door after the suspects identified themselves as law enforcement officers.

Once inside, the attackers allegedly tied up both the pastor and the security guard before assaulting them and searching the house for valuables.

The suspects are said to have remained inside the residence for several hours before fleeing the scene.

Rev Ndumia was later discovered dead with severe injuries, while the security guard survived and was rushed to hospital for treatment.

The guard has since been placed under police protection as investigations continue.

Two suspects identified as Beryl Nafula Otenyo and Felix Odinga Okumu are currently in police custody after appearing before court.

The court granted detectives 21 days to continue investigations, including DNA testing and forensic analysis of evidence recovered from the crime scene.

Authorities have indicated that two additional suspects linked to the killing are still at large.

The murder has continued to spark outrage among church members, residents and religious leaders, many of whom are demanding swift justice for the slain cleric.

Police say investigations remain ongoing as detectives work to establish the motive behind the killing and identify all individuals involved in the attack.
